Belgium concluded their preparation for FIFA’s World Cup by winning Tunisia 1-0 at King Baudouin Stadium, under a surprising hailstorm which interrupted the game for half an hour.
Mark Wilmots’ players didn’t produce any serious threats for the Tunisians during the first half, except Vertonghen’s unlucky powerful shots out of the box. It was then Mertens, Chadli, Janujai and Lukaku coming from the bench making the Red Devils more aggressive and while Tunisians where down to ten (red card Jemaa), Dries Mertens was scoring the only goal of the game at the 89′ minute after Chadli’s assist.
Belgium now departs confident for Brazil with a 3/3 winning spree (Luxembourg, Sweden, and Tunisia) to face Algeria as their opening game in the World Cup.
