Tianjin Quanjian played for the first time at home (Haihe Education Park Stadium) for the third day of the Chinese Super League, against Henan Jianye.
Coach Fabio Cannavaro, who had Axel Witsel at his disposal again after the international break, saw his men getting the early lead at the 21′ minute with Yiming Liu’s header (Pato with the assist).
Tianjin could have scored more to secure the win but was unlucky and was left defending the lead with 10 men after Liu’s red card (two yellow, one for wasting time and one for a tough challenge), seconds before the whistle.
There was little time left for Henan to produce the equaliser and Axel, coach Fabio and the rest of Tianjin, celebrated their first ever victory in the league and reaching a total of 4 points.
Next game for Quanjian is at home against Yanbian, on April 9th.
